Summer trips get even better with a pool, a terrace and an outdoor dining area.
The top two floors of a restored Centro building, this penthouse has a sunlit living room with a pink armchair under hanging plants and a dining table beside the bay window. Three bedrooms hold four beds between them, and each of the three bathrooms has a rain shower. Upstairs, a private terrace wraps around an infinity pool that looks over the bay toward Niterói. A washing machine, air conditioning throughout and a reserved garage space round out the house.

Swimming above the rooftops of Centro at sunset is something we will talk about for years.
André arranged an early check-in and a chilled bottle on the terrace, then left us to enjoy the pool in peace.
Three real bedrooms and three bathrooms meant six of us never once waited for a shower.
Immaculate, generous and beautifully furnished; the dining table by the bay window hosted our best dinner in Brazil.
The pool is smaller than the wide-angle photo suggests, but the view over the bay makes up for it entirely.
Garage, doorman and a quiet top floor: the practical side of this penthouse is as good as the glamorous one.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The exact location is shared after your reservation is confirmed.
Centro is the historic and commercial heart of Rio de Janeiro, where baroque churches and the Municipal Theatre share blocks with glass office towers. Weekdays fill the pedestrian streets with lunch crowds and the Saara market bargains, while weekends turn quiet enough to hear the church bells. The Museum of Tomorrow, the aquarium and the revived port boulevard sit on its northern edge, and the metro, the light rail and the ferries to Niterói all meet here. Guests come for the museums, the samba clubs of the neighbouring Lapa and the short rides to every beach on the network.
