A grey sofa sits below the open staircase of this Centro apartment, and the bedroom upstairs holds two beds with a navy bench at the foot of the larger one. The white kitchen has a round wooden table for four, an oven and a full set of pans. Air conditioning runs in both rooms and the television carries the local channels. Carioca metro station is a three-minute walk, so the beaches and the Sambadrome are one ride away.

Three minutes to the metro is not an exaggeration; we were at the beach in twenty and back for a nap in the afternoon.
Spotless bedroom, strong shower and a kitchen that actually had everything we needed to cook a proper dinner.
The staircase looks great in photos and is just as nice in person, though the upstairs bedroom gets warm before the air conditioning kicks in.
Great base for a work trip in Centro: fast Wi-Fi, a proper table to work at and cafes on every corner downstairs.
Beatriz answered every message within minutes and even recommended the Saturday market near the cathedral.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The exact location is shared after your reservation is confirmed.
Centro is the historic and commercial heart of Rio de Janeiro, where baroque churches and the Municipal Theatre share blocks with glass office towers. Weekdays fill the pedestrian streets with lunch crowds and the Saara market bargains, while weekends turn quiet enough to hear the church bells. The Museum of Tomorrow, the aquarium and the revived port boulevard sit on its northern edge, and the metro, the light rail and the ferries to Niterói all meet here. Guests come for the museums, the samba clubs of the neighbouring Lapa and the short rides to every beach on the network.
