João's house in Leblon is the calmest place we have stayed in Rio: the pool, the garden and the quiet street all felt private.

A private pool and a walled garden sit at the center of this Leblon house, with a glass wall that slides open from the living room. Four bedrooms hold six beds across two floors, and each of the three bathrooms comes with a hair dryer. The open kitchen runs below a wooden ceiling with a full oven, a stovetop and an island for prep, and the utility room holds a washing machine. Free parking waits behind the gate, and air conditioning and a large TV cover the warmer afternoons. Leblon Beach is a six-block walk and the lagoon path starts at the end of the street.

João's house in Leblon is the calmest place we have stayed in Rio: the pool, the garden and the quiet street all felt private.
Every room opens onto the garden, the kitchen is fully equipped, and João arranged a driver for us before we even asked.
We spent four nights swimming in the pool at dusk and walking to Leblon Beach each morning. Immaculate from top to bottom.
The glass-walled bedroom looking onto the pool is unforgettable, and check-in was a warm welcome rather than a code on a box.
We picked this place for the location and it paid off; the house sits a few minutes from the heart of Leblon.
Warm, friendly and organized — João is the kind of host who makes a new city feel easy.

Leblon is the calm end of the same long beach, and the change is easy to feel within a block. The sand is quieter, the streets are shaded, and the restaurants along Dias Ferreira fill up slowly rather than all at once. A short climb reaches the lookout at the far end, where the whole bay opens out at sunset. It suits guests who want the beach without the crowd noise that usually comes with it.
