This Copacabana loft is built around a wooden staircase that climbs toward a run of skylights. Downstairs holds the living area and a kitchen stocked with a stovetop, a kettle and wooden cutting boards; upstairs, the sleeping level has two beds and a window over the rooftops. Air conditioning keeps the top floor cool in the afternoon, and the full bathroom and a washing machine sit behind the stairs. Copacabana Beach is a five-minute walk downhill, with a bakery and a juice bar on the corner.

Marina left fresh fruit and a handwritten map of her favorite bakeries, which made our first morning in Copacabana easy.
Spotless loft with a comfortable bed upstairs, though the street gets lively on weekend nights so bring earplugs if you sleep lightly.
Good value loft in a great part of Rio de Janeiro. The mattress is on the firm side, which suited one of us more than the other.
Copacabana turned out to be the right call: quiet at night, lively by day, and everything we wanted was a short walk away.
We had a small problem with the water heater and Marina had someone there within the hour. That is real hospitality.

There is a reason millions of people dream of seeing Copacabana at least once. Anyone who stays here works out quickly that it is not only about the beach. The blocks behind the sand hold juice counters, corner bakeries and a rhythm that starts before sunrise and does not really stop. Evenings on the promenade belong to walkers, skaters and whoever has brought a speaker.
