Neighborhood highlights
Gaia sits on the opposite bank, looking back at the postcard rather than standing inside it. The riverside is lined with the old cellars where port has been aged for centuries, most of them open for a tasting. A cable car and a bridge deck link the quay to the garden on the hill above, and that garden is where everyone watches the sun set over the city. Staying here means crossing a bridge every day, which turns out to be the best part of it.
