Neighborhood highlights
The Latin Quarter has been full of students for eight hundred years and behaves accordingly. Cheap food, tiny bookshops and repertory cinemas fill the streets below the domed mausoleum on the hill. A market street runs down one side with cheese, fruit and roast chicken, at its liveliest on a Sunday morning. Guests are within walking distance of the river, the island and the big gardens without ever buying a metro ticket.
