This Montmartre studio sits on the slope below the white basilica, up a short flight of stairs. Two gray armchairs and a black floor lamp make a reading corner, and the bed has wooden bedside tables on either side. The kitchen holds a stovetop, an oven, a kettle and a small table for two, and the bathroom comes with a hair dryer. The balcony outside is wide enough for a bicycle and a curtain of ivy. The vineyard, the painters square and the funicular are all within a ten-minute climb.

Neighborhood highlights
Montmartre is a hill, and guests feel it in their legs within an hour of arriving. Stairs climb between houses and small gardens to the white basilica at the top, where the whole city lies out flat below. The square behind it is crowded with easels and portrait sellers, but two streets away the village version returns: a market street, a working vineyard and cafes with regulars. Nights up here are quiet compared with anywhere at the bottom of the steps.
