This private room sits in a Juarez building a block from the glass museum. You get one bed, a sofa with blue cushions under a large floral painting, and a bathroom with a bathtub, wooden slat paneling and a hair dryer. The room has no kitchen, so most guests use the coffee shop downstairs and the market hall around the corner. A TV and steady Wi-Fi are part of the stay. The main avenue, the park and two metro lines are within a five-minute walk.

Andrés is a kind host and the Juárez neighborhood is full of galleries and great cheap dinners.

The room is clean with a big floral painting, but the shared bathroom was often busy and the street is noisy at night.

Excellent value close to Reforma and the metro. The wooden slat bathroom was spotless and nicer than expected.

Fine for a short stay. The location in Juárez is genuinely good, but the room needs some maintenance — a dripping tap and a stiff front door.

Juárez turned out to be the right call: quiet at night, lively by day, and everything we wanted was a short walk away.

Neighborhood highlights

Juárez sits between the grand avenue with its monuments and the older streets to the south, which makes it one of the easiest bases in the city. One short road has become a run of small bars and restaurants that fill on Thursdays and stay full. The independence monument is a few minutes away and doubles as the city meeting point and celebration site. Buses along the avenue reach most of the city without a transfer.
