Gardens lies directly under the flat mountain, close enough that the cable station is a short drive uphill and the trails start at the end of the street. Its main road is a long run of cafes, bistros and small shops busy from breakfast until late. At the bottom sits a centuries-old public garden with oak avenues, squirrels and museums along its edges. Guests get mountain views from one window and the city center within a fifteen-minute walk.
