This Barceloneta studio is a single bright room a block from the water. Teal cushions, a wooden coffee table and a white rug fill the living end, and the bed sits by the window. Neighborhood highlights
Barceloneta is a wedge of tiny apartments laid out for fishermen, pressed between the port and the sand. The blocks are so narrow that neighbors hold conversations across the street from their balconies. At the end of every one of them there is beach, a boardwalk and a row of places selling rice and grilled seafood. It is loud in summer, windy in winter, and it never stops smelling faintly of the sea.
