Neighborhood highlights
El Born packs a medieval street plan around one enormous stone church whose acoustics stop people mid-conversation. The lanes are too narrow for cars, so the sound at street level is footsteps, shutters and talk from the tapas bars. A wide promenade cuts through the middle with benches under the trees, and the park with the great fountain sits at one end. It is central, atmospheric and busy right up until the bars close.
